Happy Meme Day 5!
Today was a good day for me. Nothing too exciting but I did get to hang out with my friend. This is the same one that I hung out with last night too. Btw, Wall-E? Absolutely adorable! After, we did see Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian and she agreed Prince Caspian (Ben Barnes) was hot. The DVD did stop in two important places but we got through it.

We just hung around for a bit today. I had some errands to run (needed some stuff for my attempts at cooking!) and she came with me. It's nice when you have company.

Also, the weather was beautiful. Warm with a slight breeze, just the way I like it. :)

Anyway, I hope you're all having a good weekend! :D

Warm with a slight breeze

Isn't that, like, every day where you live? =P It was great when I was out there a couple years ago.

And errands are definitely more fun with a friend.

LOL True but that's not the point. ;D

Yeah, it's definitely easier with company. I don't mind shopping alone but it's no fun. :)

I saw the movie for the first time on Friday night and I have to say that I LOVED it! :D

Hee, I really have no idea! ;D

I have yet to see Wall-E. My friends keep telling me that I need to.

My weekend was good. Our AC is finally acting properly again, so that helps. I also got to spend some time with my mom, so that made me happy.

Also, hanging out with friends wins. It's always nice to get to spend some time with them, no matter what you're doing.

Attempts at cooking? Lol, that would probably apply to me as well. I don't have too many things I can cook, but I apparently rock when it comes to eggs since my friends are always trying to get me to make them omelettes and such.

You should totally see Wall-E. It's really adorable! :)

I'm glad to hear you had a good weekend too! Yay for the AC getting fixed and being able to spend time with your mom. I'm going home in less than 2 weeks and I can't wait to see my family again. :D

It really is! She lives three doors down from me but we still don't spend much time together. I'm glad when we do. Speaking of friends, have I told you how happy I am that you're back on regularly again? Cuz I am. *hugs*

Yeah, I'm not a fan of cooking but I am trying. Tomorrow I'm going to make this thing called Macaroni Hot Pot ... it'll be interesting. That's cool that you have a specialty though! :D

It's always good to get to see your family and to get to spend time with them. I'm happy that you'll get to see yours soon.

I don't see my friends enough either. We've all been terribly busy with school and stuff. I'm looking forward to getting to do stuff with them again.

*hugs back* Aw, thanks. I'm happy to be back.

I don't like to cook, so I only do so on a rare occassion. Hmm. I don't think I've ever heard of a Macaroni Hot Pot. I might have to find out what that is now.
svgurl: clark smilesvgurl on April 20th, 2009 09:10 am (UTC)
I definitely agree. :D

I have the same problem ... we're all at different schools and my best friend is actually all the way in England doing a 5-yr med program so I only see her twice a year! But I'm glad at least one of my inner circle from high school goes to the same university I do and actually lives 3 doors down (the one I mentioned hanging out with).

*hugs back* Aw, thanks. I'm happy to be back.
I'm happy you're back! You were definitely missed. :)

I'm too lazy to cook but since I only have one class this quarter, I have more free time and I decided to learn.

Macaroni Hot Pot is a recipe my mom found. You use pasta shells (usually medium). In another pan, you saute onions, green pepper and tomatoes. Then you add beans and sauce. Add the pasta when it's cooked and mix it all together (my mom usually adds in a bit of salt and chili pepper for more flavoring). Then when it's ready and mixed, you put it in a pan and top it off with cheese and it goes in an oven for about 10 mins (or h/e long until the cheese is melted). Those aren't exact instructions but close enough ... either way, it's really good! :D

I have yet to watch Wall-E... no time, though... >.<

but I've to agree with you that Ben Barnes is hot *-* want to watch him as Dorian Grey *-* (and I still miss that one scene where Susan teaches Caspian how ro use the bow.. totally cute *is a Suspian shipper*)

I'm in the middle of a 4 day weekend (tomorrow is a holiday in Brazil, so yeah...) so mu weekend is being amazing so far =P
svgurl: prince caspian lovesvgurl on April 20th, 2009 09:39 pm (UTC)
You should definitely see Wall-E when you get the chance. I really loved it! :D

Ben Barnes is awesome! I haven't seen him in anything but Chronicles of Narnia but I want to! Oh, is that scene one that got cut out? I know a few did. I have the DVD ... I guess I'll check it out. I don't mind Susan/Caspian but I prefer Peter/Caspian myself.

4 day weekends are awesome! I'm glad you're having a good one. :)
Liz Sumeragi: Jenliz_sumeragi on April 20th, 2009 09:50 pm (UTC)
I intend to... I'm tinking about downloading it.. maybe next holiday =P

he had like... a 5 second scene on the beginning of Stardust... but now he is playing Dorian *wanna watch the movie*

yeah... that is one that got deleted (only watched on youtube) I like Peter/Caspian too... but Im a incurable Suspian at heart ;___;

he have another long weekend (3 days one this time) on May 1st... (Labor Day here =P) and that's it for now >.
svgurl: peter/caspiansvgurl on April 20th, 2009 10:02 pm (UTC)
Good plan. :)

Ooh, yeah, I heard he was playing Dorian. I want to see it too. :D

I think a lot of S/C scenes got deleted because they don't have a romance in the books and they didn't want to make it too much in the movie. IDK ... Susan/Caspian never appealed to me. I can see why other people like it but it never grew on me. I guess it's because I just like Peter better than Susan in general.

May 1st ... well, that's not that far away at least!
Liz Sumeragi: geishaliz_sumeragi on April 21st, 2009 12:16 am (UTC)
might be... back then a LOT of fans got angry with the director for the Suspian scenes (and now some fans are angry 'cause there's no Susan nor Pete on the next one)
svgurl: prince caspian lovesvgurl on April 21st, 2009 12:20 am (UTC)
Yeah, I heard about that. I didn't care either way, tbh. For me, it's like "well, technically he finds his soul mate, in like the next book so it was basically romance for the sake of romance."

*shrugs* The fans need to realize that if they're not in the books, they won't be in the movies. :\
Liz Sumeragiliz_sumeragi on April 21st, 2009 12:25 am (UTC)
yeah... I understand... the only thing that really bothers me is what Lewis turned Susan into... I quite don't like that she "lost herself" when she lost Narnia... but oh well... that me >.<

I also had something else to say to you but I can't remember, sry >.
svgurl: prince caspian lovesvgurl on April 21st, 2009 12:33 am (UTC)
Wait, what do you mean? I just remember her not going back at the end when everyone else did because she stopped believing or something. That did make sense to me, since I always felt she was the most logical of the group and was the least attached to Narnia.
Liz Sumeragi: xoxoliz_sumeragi on April 24th, 2009 01:54 am (UTC)
as I remember (I might be wring, mind) yeah, Susan was the rational/logical one... but I also remember Peter saying that she was all about parties and lipsticks... she changed... IDK... Susan was always my favorite from the books...
svgurl: prince caspian lovesvgurl on April 24th, 2009 02:01 am (UTC)
I haven't read the books since I was a kid so I don't remember that at all. I only remember some of the siblings dying in the last book but her not being able to back to Aslan's County or w/e.

Susan was my least favorite of the four so maybe that's why I'm not overly invested in her character.
Liz Sumeragi: benliz_sumeragi on April 24th, 2009 02:14 am (UTC)
I only read LWW and PC and a little of Last Battle and the bit about parties and lipstick (the actual quote is "she's interested in nothing now-a-days except nylons and lipstick and invitations." and that as actually Jill Pole's quote) happened way after Caspian

but honestly I never liked the books very much... always more about the movies >.<

oh well... Lewis said once that Susan's story was far from finished (or something like that) but now we'll never know what he planned for her =x
svgurl: prince caspian lovesvgurl on April 24th, 2009 02:37 am (UTC)
Susan in the books must've been a bit different then. Perhaps she settled into the reality of the situation and decided to enjoy her teenage years.

I always liked the books better, TBH.

I have no idea. I mean, Peter and the others ended up in Aslan's County ... I don't see what else they could've done with her.
Liz Sumeragi: benliz_sumeragi on April 24th, 2009 02:44 am (UTC)
in the ending of Lat Battle Susan was 21...

Susan lived... the rest of her life went on... she might've found redemption or not... her ending is open...

I wanna read Neil Gaiman "The Problem of Susan" now... =x
svgurl: prince caspian lovesvgurl on April 24th, 2009 02:55 am (UTC)
Which is still pretty young.

I don't think that she can't find redemption ... she just didn't believe in Narnia enough to have her sent back.

I didn't even know that such a book existed. Interesting.

Aww I need to see Wall-E, it looks really adorable!
svgurl: clark s8svgurl on April 26th, 2009 04:55 am (UTC)
Wall-E IS adorable! I definitely recommend seeing it when you can. :)
