Part 2 of TV Guide interview!

Here's the second part of Erica's TV Guide interview. The original source is here.

Now that "Stiletto" has kicked up her heels and gotten some good phone from the Blur, the CW's Smallville (Thursdays at 8 pm/ET) is just three weeks from its Season 8 finale. Here in Part 2 of our Q&A, Erica Durance shares a glimpse at the season-ender, in which Clark and Doomsday will go toe-to-toe (or at least cotton windbreaker-to-bony protrusions) Before we tease the season finale, I want to rewind a bit and talk about the episode "Hex." To accurately play Lois-as-Chloe, did you work with Allison Mack, or did you study her mannerisms from afar? The result was pretty spot-on.
Erica Durance: Thank you for that. I was duly nervous to do that because of how good Allison is, and also because I know that the fans love the Chloe character. So I really wanted to make sure that I gave it my best effort. I did two things: I studied a lot of Allison's episodes, from this year specifically. And then, and this was really lovely, she would run over and give me advice, these little pieces that you only know if you're the one playing the character. There were so many nice touches, like the nervous lower-lip bite, the wide-open eyes.....
Durance: What was really fun was that as I started to get my groove, I surprised myself and some stuff just came out. It was a fun show because people were laughing at how close it was. You had Allison going, "I didn't know I did that with my face!" And Tom [Welling], because he works so much with Allison as well, had a couple of really great hints to share with me. It was a team effort, and it was a riot. Now let's talk about the season finale. What three words would you use to describe it?
Durance: Let me think... . I would say heartbreaking, surprising .. and magical. "Magical"? Interesting. Does Lois have a good seat for the big throw-down between the boys?
Durance: [Laughs] I'm not allowed to say anything that Lois is doing. But I'll tell you this much: Lois has a good thrown fight of her own. And I bet you anything it will rival what the boys are doing, because it's two girls fighting. Did any of the finale deaths utterly surprise you, the actress?
Durance: We all were taken aback when we got our script. Each one of us, seeing what all of our characters is doing... . Like I said, some heartbreaking things happen. I'm guessing that people will be sitting there at the end with a stunned look, their mouths hanging open, going, "Oh my God." In closing, I wanted to share with you what [executive producer] Kelly Souders told us the other day: "You'll be seeing more of Lois in the future. She's fascinating and we'll never stop digging into what makes her tick." So I have a good feeling this will not be the last time you and I speak.
Durance: I hope it's not. If so, maybe I'll just call and stalk you anyways! Sweet!

I love Erica's interviews. She's just great.

She uses some interesting words to describe the finale. I'm not raising my hopes. My bet is still on that Ollie's going to die. No, I'm not happy about it but with the way his character is going and looking at these new stills from 'Doomsday', I don't know what else to do with him! I'm mentally preparing himself now if that ends up being the case. So far? Not working.

Feel free to share your thoughts!
