help on star sapphire?
To the DC fans on my flist, I need your help. I was hoping you would help me out with info about Star Sapphire, Carol Ferris to be specific. I've done my research online but there are some stuff I don't understand, mainly how she became Star Sapphire. IDK if that info is even available but if it is, could you let me to know or maybe point me in the right direction?

Any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Don't know if this helps ...

As Ferris Aircraft's Vice President, Carol Ferris, the only child of aerospace mogul Carl Ferris, hired Hal Jordan and quickly found herself attracted to the fearless test pilot, who was secretly the superhero Green Lantern. However, the young couples romance quickly became complicated when Carol took over the company from her father and the Zamarons crowned her the new Star Sapphire. When the Zamarons discovered that she was in love with Green Lantern, a servant of their estranged mates, the Guardians of the Universe, they sent her to defeat Green Lantern in battle as Star Sapphire.

There's also this too ...

Dynamic leader of the company for which Hal Jordan worked as a test pilot, Carol eventually became Hal's 'significant other', though their relationship was never particularly stable. This was partly due to ' Star Sapphire', a Zamaronian intelligence which occasionally took over her body for villainous purposes. She had just begun to rebuild her life recently in the wake of her lover's insanity and death when she discovered that Jordan is still 'alive'. Her company, Ferris Aircraft, was a key supplier of hardware to the United States military during the Luthor presidency.

I actually found all of that out online. I already checked Wikipedia and all related sites. I was looking for more details, but thanks anyway!

Are you writing movie-verse or comics-verse? If it's just movie-verse, you're burdened with way less canon. Easy enough to ignore stuff you don't want or need.

I've never really followed Green Lantern so not sure I can help much. You can check out her profile on the DC Wiki, but good luck understanding it all! She's a fairly old character and a lot of those old comics were full of crack. (Well, modern comics are also full of crack, but I'd like to believe modern comics at least try to be subtle about it!)

The Zamarons mind-controlling her into fighting Hal is just an easy way to create conflict--she's the love interest who has to be defeated physically as well as romantically.

Yes, Carol is full of crack! Her outfitt gets smaller and smaller on the backside every time she sees Hal. I'm thinkign he must be a butt man and she knows it. Soon it will be nothing but floss. Although she never tried to set up Guy and that's her job.

Movie-verse. It's for an RP though, not a fanfic. And yeah, that's why I figured I could go for the barest details.

Thanks for trying to help! I'll definitely give it a shot. :D

Makes sense. They don't like to give these heroes long lasting love interests, do they? What a shame.

The lovey Dovey purple hippies drafted her because she was "a heart filled up of love for the Green Lantoern known as Hal Jordan. It's all part of their evil plan to spread LOVE to all corners of the univers no matter the damage it causes. The Hippydippy corps as I call them fell it's the devin right to show every lantern who the one true love is for each one. Not who they end up with. Plus lets just say they can be more twisted the the Red and orange corps combined all in the name of love. So getting your heart ripped out of your chest. Is really high up there.

Oh yeah her ring has her living under the delusion that hal is just sooooo twitterpatted over her and he loves playing hard to get games with so he can have all of her undevied attion.

Now I want to dig out my old isshues. Well I can move them far from my prized first joint appernce of Hal and Alen.

I do beleave that hal and carol's them song may just be S&M.

Is he not? I'm not a comic book reader but the few panels I've seen of the made it seem like he did care about her and the movie definitely portrays their love as mutual. But like I said, I was only looking for how they got her- kidnapping, convincing her to join ... something like that.

aathey slaped the glitery purle ring on her much like Hal without the dead lantern. I think the ring has a comulsion that makes you want to wear it if it calls to you.

Characters in DC Comics. Well a single character really. Carol Ferris becomes Star Sapphire. They're mostly associated with Green Lantern.
